If you are fascinated by the underlying science of medicine, and would like to pursue a career in medical research, hospital or pathology laboratories, the pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries, scientific sales or quality assurance, then you should consider the Western Sydney University’s Medical Science program.
The degree allows you to undertake any of the Bachelor of Medical Science programs, including Biomedical Science, Medicinal Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Physics. Postgraduate research programs are available to high-achieving students.

As a Medical Science graduate, you’ll have a variety of career options to choose from. Position titles can be variable among employers, however career opportunities may include roles in:- medical research
- hospitals
- pathology laboratories
- veterinary pathology laboratories
- the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries
- government health departments
- medical sales
- research and laboratory positions with organisations such as the CSIRO and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO)
